I’ve been making Vtuber models for commissions as well as for my Etsy store. Found here.
I stream the making of on Twitch. Checkout the stream here.
Using Maya and other programs, I make VRM models that can be used with a program called VSeeFace among others.
Youtube Timelapses of modeling found here.

Having some reference art for where the creature would inhabit helps the ideas flow.
Here, I compile some pictures and concept art that helps inform what kind of creature I’m making.
Once I have a good idea of what kind of creature I want, then I refine the design to be closer to what I want.
A food web can help visualize how the creature fits into the fictional world.
Modeling reference pictures helps me model the creature in Maya.
Here we have the Diffuse, Normal, and Specular maps. Spaced out and scaled to maximize efficiency.
